This website is intended for patients of Homewood Health services from January 1, 2015, to August 5, 2021.  A class proceeding has been initiated by K.L., representing all affected individuals, against Homewood Health Inc. concerning a significant data breach that occurred in March 2021, compromising the personal and health information of numerous patients.

Nature of the Lawsuit

The lawsuit alleges that Homewood Health Inc. was negligent in protecting the personal and health information of its patients, leading to a substantial data breach. The action claims damages for privacy invasion, distress, and other harms suffered by class members due to the data breach.

It is alleged that unknown hackers accessed and exfiltrated sensitive personal and health information from Homewood Health’s network. The claim includes allegations that Homewood Health failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures, resulting in the data breach. The lawsuit accuses Homewood Health of breaching privacy rights under various statutes and failing to adhere to its contractual obligations to protect patient information.

You are a class member if you were a patient of Homewood Health from January 1, 2015, to August 5, 2021.

Class members should contact class counsel (sbrown@fmlaw.ca) to identify yourself and provide additional information that may assist in the prosecution of this matter.  However, class members are not required to do anything to be included in the class action.
